Afloat Plan Home is a valuable tool designed for individuals engaging in water activities such as boating, kayaking, canoeing, jet skiing, or paddling.

The primary objective of this application is to create and share a detailed plan when participating in water recreation, ensuring that your loved ones are informed of your safe return or can initiate a search if you don't make it back.

By simply sending a text message, you can provide all the necessary information about your planned water sports activity to up to five chosen contacts. Setting up the app is a straightforward one-time process:

  • Enter personal details including your name, address, phone number, and contact information.
  • Complete the description of your watercraft with specifics such as hull numbers, registration details, size, and colors.
  • List emergency contacts who will be notified if you are delayed and fail to conclude your journey.

Filing a float plan is quick and easy. Input your starting point, destination, and estimated arrival or return time. Upon submission, a comprehensive description of your watercraft along with the starting location and a Google map link will be forwarded to your selected contacts.

Throughout your activity, the app will automatically record your location every 10 minutes, storing this data in the cloud. Even if you lose LTE signal coverage, the app continues tracking your GPS location via satellite. Location information is stored locally on your device until you reconnect to LTE, at which point it syncs with the cloud.

In case you fail to conclude your trip as scheduled, the app will notify you to end it. If you do not respond within 30 minutes, the app will share your trip map with route details and your last known location to your contacts.

Users with a Sirius Signal model C-1002 SOS eVDSD can remotely test and activate their distress signal using the app, which also displays the light's battery status. Furthermore, an offline interactive first aid treatment guide for common water-related emergencies is available within the application.
